La Vieille Ferme is our charming 15^th Century Farmhouse in the quiet hamlet of Bors, Pressignac in the beautiful Charente, Poitou - Charente in SW France. Poitou - Charente is one of the sunniest regions in France, second only to La Côte d'Azur. La Vieille Ferme is easily accessible by air and road and is just 35 minutes from Limoges airport, 90 minutes from the airport at Bordeaux and less than 2 hours from Bergerac airport. For those who prefer to drive, La Vieille Ferme is under 7 hours from the channel ports.

The farmhouse has four bedrooms and sleeps up to 8, making it ideal for multi generational holidays or two families holidaying together yet perfect for a romantic holiday for two. Occasionally we will accommodate up to two more guests, for whom an additional nightly charge will be made.

La Vieille Ferme is beautifully furnished and oozes character and charm. There are many original features in the house including the delightful bread oven. The farmhouse is very spacious, with a large lounge, separate dining room and kitchen. A large utility / bathroom has an additional WC and shower as well as washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms:

Bedroom 1 – King size bed, memory foam mattress and luxurious ensuite featuring a roll top bath.

Bedroom 2– Super King bed - can be used as twin beds with memory foam mattresses

Bedroom 3 – King size bed with memory foam mattress plus day bed which can be used as a second king size or twin beds

Bedroom 4 – Bunk beds—adult size

Outside, leading from the lounge is a stunning covered terrace, perfect for alfresco dining. With a garden over an acre in size and a beautiful 10 m x 5 m swimming pool, La Vieille Ferme is the perfect holiday retreat.

For the winter months, La Vieille Ferme benefits from central heating and in addition, both the lounge and dining room have lovely wood burning stoves in their original inglenook fireplaces - wonderful for those cosy winter evenings.

We had holidayed in France for 12 years and in 2016 took the plunge and bought this beautiful house. During 2016 the house was completely renovated with a new roof, new wiring and a beautiful handmade oak kitchen installed. Upstairs chestnut flooring was laid and hand crafted oak doors fitted by local artisans. Two new bathrooms, one en suite were also included in the refurbishment.

During our years of holidaying in France, we have stayed in many beautiful holiday homes, but we have always asked ourselves, ‘If this was ours, what would we do differently?’ As a result we have tried to incorporate the 'best bits', and added the 'bits' we thought were missing to make La Vieille Ferme the perfect holiday home. Somewhere where you can enjoy precious time in beautiful, relaxing surroundings.
