Two families stayed in the property, with young children. The spacious living areas and enormous garden were heaven for the children to play in. The swimming pool was great fun and the local lakes provided endless entertainment.

The most amazing holiday, everything we could have wished for and more! The farmhouse is truly beautiful our children loved the pool, we all admired the grounds and enjoyed relaxing especially in the hammock!
Seven friends, seven days, seven nights in this fabulous farmhouse. We had a blast and only left to replenish our supplies as this place has everything you need! We are already planning our return...
If you are looking for a holiday for total relaxation then La Vielle Ferme is the place for you. The farmhouse is beautifully restored (the beds are to die for) and the grounds are fabulously spread out with several areas designed for relaxation and simply sitting back and enjoying a glass wine.

We had a lovely time, we had everything we needed to enjoy the house and the location. Very quiet and was lovely to sit by the pool, relax and soak up the sun.

La Vieille Ferme was idyllic, spacious, comfortable and olde world all rolled up in one. The outside undercover patio was fabulous many an evening spent out there laughing and having a drink.
What a fabulous spacious home, set in a beautiful area of the countryside. We had the most incredibly relaxing time, everything about our stay was amazing, ranging from the outside space/games to the kitchen facilities. It was the perfect retreat for our family to relax and have fun together.

Wow! We have recently returned from this absolutely incredible farmhouse, it really is stunning. Photos do not do it justice. We are a family of 7 and everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed it. I must say I was a bit nervous booking at first but so glad we did and now we cannot wait to go back. The children really enjoyed the pool too and games. The owners have really thought about everything. It's lovely and quiet too. The area is a short drive to everything. So much to see and do. You can have the most peaceful break away or busiest. I cannot recommend this farmhouse enough, it's truly beautiful and we have had the best week away.
We have returned to the UK after a very restful and enjoyable week at La Vieille Ferme in this lovely part of France. The farmhouse has been lovingly restored and offers a luxurious environment, The accommodation is to a very high standard with luxury bedrooms and bathrooms sometimes not found in these country houses.

Thanks for the stay at La Vielle Ferme which we both enjoyed very much. We didn't go to far away from the house, we just needed a rest from our busy lives for a couple of weeks.

We were a party of 6 adults, and we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at La Vieille Ferme even with the mega heatwave across the region. The pool was so pleasant and very much appreciated to cool off in, as were the fans in each bedroom and the coolness of the lounge. We loved the numerous seating areas in the house and the garden areas with many being in the shade. Every meal we had at La Vielle Ferme was outside at the large table situated on the covered terrace area - this was such a beautiful spot to eat, play games, reflect, chat and of course sample the local wine and cider. The numerous added extras were much appreciated and some of these included: board games; a badminton set; a small library; a BBQ; and inflatable pool floating devices!
The booking process was simple, and all the payment requirements clearly documented at the beginning of the process. The Housekeeper lives close by and was very pleasant and accessible for any queries.
In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the tranquillity and remoteness of the property so very refreshing. We hope to return in the not too distant future.

Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine de vacances à la Vieille Ferme. La piscine est grande, agréable et sécurisée. La maison est très bien équipée, notamment la cuisine qui est très fonctionnelle pour préparer des repas pour famille nombreuse ! Nous reviendrons avec plaisir profiter de la maison dans ce coin très agréable, calme et à la faune très variée (chevreuil, grenouille, hérisson et galinacées...) ! Les hôtes sont très réactifs et la house keeper est charmante !

We had a lovely stay at your beautiful home with 3 generations of extended family. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house was superbly equipped for every eventuality. We enjoyed exploring the local area but it was difficult to tear ourselves away from the house so there were many days when we just relaxed in the garden. There was so much to do in the grounds, especially the swimming pool and the delightful shaded veranda from where we watched an abundance of wildlife. Your housekeeper, was a reassuring presence and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our children said it was "the best holiday ever" and we have to agree!
Amazing holiday with grandparents, parents and children - something for everyone. Hardest thing is leaving the house, but when you do you're spoilt for choice of places to visit. Inflatables at the beach lake were great fun and free to use - you wouldn't get that back home. Great visit to Cognac with tour of distillery - very interesting. First time we've re booked a holiday when still on holiday!
We would highly recommend La Vieille Ferme to anyone! Your housekeeper is an absolute gem and very kind. The location is perfect and tranquil. The house is very well laid out and had everything you would have at home. Right down to cling film! Sooo homely. It was like a home from home. The children’s stuff in the kitchen was a great thought! We couldn’t believe the space both upstairs and down. The grounds and pool all worked perfectly for us and to have a gated pool meant that our daughter was free to roam all day. The covered patio and added seating areas were great and the hammock a brilliant addition and was probably used the most!
I’m like a tigger as is my daughter and for the first time both of us were so happy to just exist in the beautiful surroundings because there was so much space!

A wonderful location , great house with loads of extras, far too many to enjoy during our week's stay. Lovely time enjoying the local and wider area, particularly like La Rochefoucauld and its magnificent chateau. We definitely need to come back.
La Vieille Ferme is the most wonderful place to stay, the home is amazing and has everything you would ever need for your stay. When arriving we were met by the lovely housekeeper and shown around and everything was explained to us. Property was clean and well maintained with a few different choice of places to sit around the property ground to enjoy the sun. We were a party of two couples and kids, the house never seemed small in any way.. the bedrooms are all lovely size with a total of 2 showers 1 bath and 3 toilets plenty of the things you need. Lovely large spacious kitchen dinning room with enough room at the table for everyone, we had a lovely dress up night dinner with candles which were already there. Front room lovely spacious with TV, but we never even switched the TV on, why because the property has a wonderful large swimming pool which is heated and checked by the housekeeper every day, also pool has pool alarm. Large sitting area around the pool, with massive garden to play Football. Badminton or what ever you want Supermarket only 10 mins away, Went to the lakes only 10 min drive where we did paddle boarding, kayaking and the lake has 2 man made beaches which you can swim in the roped off area Loads of lovely places to visit near by. The property is rural but once there you need nothing, max 10 mins to shops. Next year it will be our friends 3rd year and our 2nd time going, all you need to do is book, pack clothes and enjoy the lovely weather....

The problem with La Vieille Ferme is you just don't want to leave!!! But when you do drag yourself away you get to visit some great places. Local lakes are lovely and cafe there good value. We loved Brantome and the horse sanctuary - thanks for the recommendation. A trip to Oradour was heartbreaking and somewhere we will never forget. Bike hire was a great idea and the company recommended were excellent. Restaurants didn't disappoint except when I stepped on the scales.

Absolutely stunning, blown away when we pulled up and couldn’t believe we were going to stay there! A treasure we didn’t want to leave. Felt like home as soon as I stepped in and the kind of home I wish we had back in the UK! Everything you want - warm, spacious, cosy, clean, comfortable, high specification throughout - a positive feel wherever you are in the house. The gardens and views are amazing and incredibly relaxing. Sadly it wasn’t warm enough for the pool however it looks superb and will definitely be visiting again so I can enjoy a swim in the sun. The location is just a short drive from many beautiful places offering great food, culture, shopping and entertainment. A truly perfect holiday - highly recommended you will not be disappointed. This is our second visit to La Vieille Ferme and certainly won't be our last. We all felt very much at home and it was the relaxing break we all needed. The farmhouse and garden has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. It is set within beautiful countryside and has a very large private garden and good size swimming pool. It is the nicest French property we have stayed in. Very good and friendly communication from the owners. Would highly recommend this beautiful farmhouse.
We are currently staying in this beautifully restored farmhouse planning when we can fit in another stay. The surrounding area is beautiful and tranquil. The perfect retreat from our busy lives. Not only is the house fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for rural French living the neighbours are very friendly and are more than happy to share the bountiful crops from their gardens and quail eggs.

The Farmhouse has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard, visitors will not be disappointed with this 5 star rental. The owners have thought of everything from every day essentials to the finer details. A covered outdoor seating area offers visitors alfresco dining & the pool is perfect enjoying the sunshine throughout the day. This rental is excellent value for money & I would highly recommend it.

The quality of this house, inside and out, is immediately evident. Every room is so well appointed, and we wanted for nothing in every area. The garden is large and well kept, the pool really is a very good size, and outdoor eating areas are nicely furnished with perfect lighting options. Pictures cannot do it justice, the scale of the rooms, including bedrooms, are beyond compare to what we have booked before. If you are looking to explore this area, this house is a luxury to start and end the day on.

It was extremely cold outside but the house was lovely and warm at all times. We enjoyed plenty of country walks that are on the doorstep and also enjoyed good local restaurants with excellent French food and of course the local wine. It was always lovely to come back to light the 2 wood burners which made the house even warmer. This spacious house is suited to a large family or several couples and 2 families holidaying together. All round this is a high standard quality holiday home, in a beautiful part of France. We will certainly be back in the summer to enjoy another holiday and take advantage of the swimming pool and the large private garden.”
What a gem this place is! We had a fantastic week at the beautiful La Vieille Ferme. House, garden - which is massive and pool meant that we spent quality family time together, relaxing, swimming, playing badminton and boules and eating al fresco. The weather was glorious and we had everything we needed and more. The property managers are a delight, kind, thoughtful and very knowledgable about the area. Only mistake we made was only booking one week, not two! See you in 2019!
Spent a ridiculously relaxing week at the beautiful La Vieille Ferme - photos really don't do it justice. Beautiful part of the country which we'd not discovered before, with lots to do and see. Everything as described only better, looking forward to our next visit already. Hosts and caretakers both brilliant, friendly and very helpful.
